References Conclusion The technique of studying myocardial strain by speckle tracking was able to detect early signs of deterioration of myocardial systolic function in HIV-infected patients, regardless of whether or not they were on antiretroviral drugs. Further studies are needed to evaluate HIV-infected patients and to assess the prognostic significance of these abnormalities in these patients.
